Flying Magazine, April 2006

". . . Stokes' mural of the Flying White House includes 21 different aircraft. Among other interesting items, the collection includes the Aero Commander that President Eisenhower used to shuttle back and forth between Washington and the short, grass strip on his Gettysburg farm, a United Airlines DC-10 on which President Nixon and his family bought first-class tickets for a one-time trip to California during the 1973 fuel crisis, and the first aircraft specifically built for a U.S. President--the silver "Sacred Cow" C-54, that flew President Roosevelt to the famous 1945 Yalta conference."
